The International EPD System Logotype

The International EPD System (IES) logotype symbolises a yardstick — a standardised tool for objective measurement, and is mandatory to be included in the environmental product declarations published in the International EPD System.

The IES logotype is the property of EPD International AB, and its use is subject to the conditions set out in the Global Programme Instructions (GPI) and below, and other uses of the logotype are only allowed based on agreements with EPD International AB. Unauthorised use and/or misuse of the logotype is not permitted, and EPD International AB retains the right to request the withdrawal of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), removal of published materials, and legal action on the transgression related to the misuse of the logotype.

The IES logotype may be used in the following:

It is possible for a company to use IES logotype to communicate about the published EPDs in IES in a more general term, yet the applications of IES logotype are limited to the following:

  • Along with the introductory texts about IES
  • When a company holds more than 3 EPDs from IES: It is then possible to provide a brief introduction of IES and list out the published EPDs below with respective hyperlinks to the corresponding EPD pages in the EPD Library

The IES logotype is available for download in standard and inverted formats, as well as in colour and greyscale below:

For product-specific communication

Product-specific traceability logotype for web applications and product packaging can be downloaded on the page of published Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in the EPD Library.

The traceability logotype consists of a QR code linked to the corresponding product page in the EPD Library, alongside the International EPD System logotype. The logotype is provided in both colour and greyscale versions, with resolutions of 96 dpi for digital applications and 300 dpi for high-quality print production. EPD owners can access and download the logotype directly by clicking the “Download Traceability Logotype” button on the relevant EPD page in the EPD Library.

The traceability logotype can be seamlessly integrated into websites, social media posts when communicating data/information from an EPD; product packaging, brochures, and other marketing materials.

  • For digital communication: traceability logotype should include the hyperlink to the EPD page in the EPD Library.
  • For printed materials: the QR code section of the traceability logotype should be minimum 2 x 2 cm.
